I had always wanted an original Space Invaders arcade machine and now thanks to Mame I have one, albeit a replica.

A pretty big project involving pretty much everything from PC building, software, programming, electronics and woodworking.

Made from MDF sheets, the cabinet is loosly modeled on a hybrid between Defender and Q-bert machines. It's powered by an old P4 PC built from old components I had left over from a previous PC upgrade.

Started in November 2012 and took a good 6 months to build, It's mostly hand made from recycled 'stuff' with the aim to do as much as I can as cheap as I can. Why, well I could just go out and but one but that wouldn't be a project and the challenge of making and salvaging as much as I can is most of the fun.
